Craig Ferguson entered the world of late night comedy after not only producing motion pictures but also writing, directing and staring in many of these films

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Ferguson got his start in the entertainment industry as a drummer for some of the worst punk bands in the U.K.

In 1996 ABC decided to add the talented Scotsman to "The Drew Carey Show, " playing Drew Carey's boss, Nigel Wick, from 1996-2003.

Ferguson has written the feature films "The Big Tease" and "Saving Grace." In 2003, Ferguson made his directorial debut with "I'll Be There," which he also wrote and starred in. "I'll Be There" went on to receive the Audience Award for Best Film at the Aspen, Dallas, and Valencia film festivals. Craig was also named "Best New Director" at the Napa Valley Film Festival.

In 2005 on a Sunday, Craig’s father died. He decided to devote Monday’s show to his father just one day after his father was buried. His show that night was so touching that it was nominated for a Emmy award. I was lucky enough to find a copy of this episode “For your consideration” that is given out only to members. It was a wonderful tribute and I can never remember any actor being himself and mourning his father in such a public way.

I had the pleasure of attending one of his stand up routines that he does on weekends. He was funny and quite handsome. He also has very large feet. “:O
